In a ceremony marked by military tradition, pride and regimental spirit, officer cadets of the 158th Regular Course, 141st Technical Graduate Course (TGC), 56th Special Commissioned Officers (SCO) Course and 47th Technical Entry Scheme (TES) Course were adorned with their accoutrements ahead of their commissioning into the Regiment of Artillery on June 13, 2026.
The ceremony symbolised the cadets’ transition into the distinguished ranks of the Regiment of Artillery, often referred to as the “God of War” for its decisive role on the battlefield.

The event was graced by Lieutenant General V K Ahluwalia (Retd), PVSM, AVSM, YSM, VSM, who addressed the future officers and inspired them to uphold the highest traditions of military leadership and lead from the front as they embark on their careers as artillery officers.
Also addressing the gathering was Major General Rajesh Srivastava, SM, VSM, ADG Administration and Coordination, who encouraged the cadets to embrace the ethos of the Regiment and prepare themselves to dominate the battlespace as future custodians of the Army’s “Arm of Decision.”

The ceremony witnessed the participation of veteran artillery officers, who extended their blessings and shared words of encouragement with the soon-to-be commissioned officers. Their presence reinforced the Regiment’s enduring traditions and the bond between generations of Gunners.
The accoutrement ceremony forms an important milestone in the journey of cadets preparing for commissioning from the Indian Military Academy. It serves as a symbolic induction into their chosen arm and instills a sense of responsibility, honour and commitment to military service.

As the cadets prepare for the IMA Passing Out Parade on June 13, they stand ready to join the Regiment of Artillery and carry forward its proud legacy of courage, professionalism and battlefield excellence.
The ceremony concluded with best wishes for the future officers as they prepare to dedicate themselves to the service of the nation and the defence of India’s sovereignty.
