Lieutenant General V.M.B. Krishnan, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Eastern Command, visited the Headquarters Jharkhand & Bihar Sub Area and the Bihar Regiment Centre at Danapur to review the operational, training and logistic preparedness of the formation.
Accompanied by the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Trinity Area, the Army Commander received a comprehensive briefing on the prevailing security situation and the formation’s overall readiness to meet operational commitments.

The review covered key aspects of Agniveer training, highlighting the Army’s efforts to develop disciplined, technologically proficient and combat-ready soldiers under the Agnipath Scheme. Lt Gen Krishnan also assessed the formation’s Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) preparedness, emphasising the importance of maintaining rapid response capabilities for natural disasters and emergency situations.
The briefing further highlighted initiatives undertaken for veteran welfare, reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to supporting ex-servicemen and their families. Discussions also focused on civil-military fusion programmes aimed at strengthening cooperation between the Armed Forces, civil administration and local communities to promote security, resilience and regional development.
Commending the officers and troops, Lt Gen Krishnan appreciated their professionalism, dedication and sustained efforts in maintaining high standards of operational readiness, training and logistics support.

He emphasised the importance of continuous capability enhancement, realistic training, seamless coordination and people-centric initiatives to effectively address evolving security challenges while contributing to nation-building.
The visit reaffirmed the Eastern Command’s commitment to maintaining a high state of preparedness across its formations through operational excellence, robust logistics, effective training and strong civil-military cooperation.
