Major General Harinder Singh Mavi, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North), visited multiple locations across Nagaland on June 9, 2026, to review operational readiness, administrative efficiency, welfare measures and civil-military cooperation initiatives undertaken by the force.
During the visit, the General Officer was briefed on the prevailing security situation, operational preparedness and various initiatives aimed at maintaining peace and stability in the region. He reviewed the effectiveness of ongoing operational measures and assessed the readiness of troops deployed across the state.

Maj Gen Mavi interacted with officers and troops at various locations and commended them for their professionalism, dedication and unwavering commitment to duty. He appreciated the efforts of all ranks in maintaining a high standard of operational effectiveness while contributing to a secure and stable environment in Nagaland.
Emphasising the importance of sustained vigilance, the Inspector General highlighted the need to maintain robust operational preparedness in view of evolving security challenges. He encouraged troops to continue performing their duties with commitment and professionalism while remaining prepared to respond effectively to any contingency.

The General Officer also stressed the significance of strong engagement with local communities and the role of civil-military cooperation in fostering trust, development and long-term peace in the region. He noted that meaningful interaction with the local population remains essential for ensuring lasting stability and security.
