In a significant step towards modernising military training and embracing emerging technologies, the National Defence Academy (NDA) inaugurated a state-of-the-art Drone Training Lab at the Army Training Team.
The facility was inaugurated by Vice Admiral Anil Jaggi, Commandant, National Defence Academy, as part of the Academy’s ongoing efforts to continuously upgrade training aids and instructional methodologies in line with evolving battlefield requirements.
The newly established Drone Training Lab is designed to provide cadets with exposure to emerging drone technologies and their growing role in modern warfare. The facility will enable future military leaders to develop an understanding of unmanned aerial systems, their operational applications and their increasing significance across contemporary military operations.
Officials noted that the lab will play an important role in familiarising cadets with the technological advancements shaping future battlefields, thereby enhancing their preparedness for the challenges of next-generation warfare.
During his visit, Vice Admiral Jaggi also toured the recently instituted Motivational Hall at the Army Training Team. The hall has been created to provide cadets with deeper insights into the Indian Army’s rich history, ethos, traditions and values.

The Motivational Hall features narratives of bravery, sacrifice and service, encapsulating inspiring stories of India’s bravehearts and highlighting the legacy of courage and professionalism that defines the Indian Armed Forces.
The initiative aims to strengthen cadets’ understanding of military heritage while instilling values of leadership, duty and selfless service. By combining technological learning with historical and ethical grounding, the Academy seeks to develop well-rounded military leaders prepared for future operational environments.
The inauguration of the Drone Training Lab and the establishment of the Motivational Hall reflect the NDA’s commitment to integrating innovation, professional military education and character development into its training framework, ensuring that future officers remain technologically adept while staying rooted in the enduring traditions of the Armed Forces.
