Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Krishna Swaminathan visited the Artificial Limb Centre (ALC), Pune on 23 July 2026, where he reviewed the institution’s pioneering work in prosthetics, orthotics, rehabilitation medicine and advanced assistive technologies. The visit highlighted the Armed Forces Medical Services’ continued commitment to delivering world-class rehabilitation and patient care for serving personnel, veterans and civilians.

During the visit, Admiral Krishna Swaminathan was briefed on the Artificial Limb Centre’s vital role as one of India’s premier rehabilitation institutions. Officials outlined the Centre’s comprehensive efforts in providing advanced prosthetic and orthotic solutions, specialised rehabilitation services and cutting-edge assistive technologies designed to improve the quality of life and functional independence of patients.

The Chief of the Naval Staff toured the Centre’s state-of-the-art facilities, where he observed patient-centric rehabilitation programmes that integrate modern medical practices with advanced technology. He also witnessed several indigenous innovations developed at the Centre, reflecting the institution’s focus on self-reliance and continuous technological advancement in rehabilitation medicine.
