Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), has been conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award by the Association of Radiation Oncologists of India (AROI) in recognition of her outstanding contributions to oncology, medical education and the advancement of cancer care in India.
The prestigious award was presented by Dr Umesh Mahantshetty, Director of Homi Bhabha Cancer Hospital & Research Centre and Vice President of AROI, during Oncovision 2026, held at Army Hospital (Research & Referral), New Delhi.
The honour recognises Surg VAdm Arti Sarin’s distinguished career spanning nearly four decades, during which she has made significant contributions to radiation oncology, clinical excellence, medical research, teaching and healthcare leadership within the Armed Forces Medical Services.
As the Director General Armed Forces Medical Services, Surg VAdm Sarin continues to lead the tri-services medical organisation while driving advancements in military healthcare, medical education and specialised cancer treatment, further strengthening the Armed Forces’ medical capabilities.
