The Air Force Band delivered a captivating musical performance at the War Memorial in Dighalipukhuri, Guwahati, on August 12, 2026, as part of celebrations marking India’s 80th Independence Day.
The performance brought together stirring melodies, patriotic tunes, martial music and inspirational Indian compositions, creating an atmosphere of national pride and remembrance. Air Marshal Anjan Kumar Gogoi (Retd), PVSM, AVSM, VSM, graced the occasion as the distinguished Chief Guest. His presence added significance to the event, which brought together members of the defence community, civil administration and the general public.
Defence and civil dignitaries, along with residents of Guwahati, attended the performance. Schoolchildren and NCC cadets were also present, providing young participants an opportunity to experience a musical tribute centred on patriotism, military heritage and national service.
