General Dhiraj Seth, Chief of the Army Staff, Indian Army, paid homage to the martyrs by laying a wreath at the Martyrs’ Memorial at the Army Pavilion in Tundikhel during his official visit to Nepal.

The wreath-laying ceremony paid tribute to the brave personnel who made the supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. The solemn gesture reflected the enduring military traditions of honouring those who laid down their lives in the line of duty.
During the visit, General Dhiraj Seth also paid a courtesy call on General Ashok Raj Sigdel, Chief of the Army Staff, Nepali Army. The two Army Chiefs held discussions on matters of mutual interest and explored avenues for further strengthening bilateral military relations between Nepal and India.

The interaction highlighted the longstanding professional relationship between the Indian Army and Nepali Army, which is rooted in close historical and military ties.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to continued military-to-military engagement and greater cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The discussions also provided an opportunity to strengthen professional exchanges and deepen mutual understanding between the two Armies.

General Dhiraj Seth’s engagements in Kathmandu form part of his official visit to Nepal from August 17 to 19, aimed at further consolidating the close defence partnership between the two countries.
The visit, including the solemn tribute to the martyrs and engagement with the Nepali Army leadership, underscores the enduring bonds of friendship, mutual respect and military cooperation between India and Nepal.
