A delegation of Indian National Cadet Corps (NCC) cadets participating in the Youth Exchange Programme (YEP) visited Hanoi, Vietnam, as part of an engagement aimed at promoting cultural understanding, learning and friendship between the youth of India and Vietnam.
During the visit, the NCC delegation paid homage at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The cadets laid a wreath and paid their respects to Ho Chi Minh, the revered Vietnamese leader, marking an important ceremonial engagement during their stay in the country.
The delegation subsequently visited the Presidential Palace, where the cadets gained an insight into Vietnam’s history, heritage and national institutions. The visit provided an opportunity for the young participants to understand aspects of Vietnam’s cultural and historical legacy.
The cadets also visited the Children’s Palace in Hanoi and interacted with its Director. The interaction focused on the institution’s functioning, activities and its role in nurturing young minds and encouraging the development of children through educational and extracurricular initiatives.
The delegation’s programme also included a visit to the Grand Military Museum, where the cadets explored Vietnam’s military history and witnessed exhibits depicting the country’s remarkable military journey.
The engagements provided the Indian cadets with opportunities to learn about Vietnam’s history, culture, military heritage and youth development initiatives while interacting with people and institutions in the country.
The Youth Exchange Programme is intended to provide NCC cadets with international exposure and opportunities for cultural exchange. Such visits enable young participants to experience different traditions, understand the histories of partner countries and develop greater appreciation for international friendship and cooperation.
The Hanoi visit combined ceremonial engagements, historical learning and interaction with Vietnamese youth institutions, creating an opportunity for the cadets to gain experiences beyond the classroom and training environment.
The programme also highlighted the role of youth exchanges in strengthening people-to-people connections between India and Vietnam, with the NCC delegation’s engagements contributing to greater mutual understanding and friendship between the two countries.
