Lieutenant General Rajesh Pushkar, AVSM, VSM, Army Commander, Southern Command, visited Central Ammunition Depot (CAD), Pulgaon, and Sainik School Chandrapur, highlighting the importance of logistics strength, institutional excellence and nation-building initiatives.
At Central Ammunition Depot, Pulgaon, the Army Commander reviewed critical infrastructure and measures supporting operational logistics and mission readiness. He was briefed on the functioning of the establishment and the initiatives being undertaken to enhance logistics efficiency.

The visit provided Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar an opportunity to review the infrastructure and systems supporting the depot’s operational responsibilities. The emphasis on logistics efficiency highlighted the role of effective support systems in maintaining mission readiness.
The Army Commander subsequently visited Sainik School Chandrapur, where he inaugurated the Lakshya Indoor Shooting Range. During the visit, he also reviewed the school’s academic and training initiatives, cadet development programmes and modern infrastructure.
The Lakshya Indoor Shooting Range adds to the institutional infrastructure available for cadet training at the school. The Army Commander’s visit also provided an opportunity to interact with cadets and review initiatives focused on their overall development.

Interacting with the cadets, Lt Gen Rajesh Pushkar inspired them to pursue excellence through self-discipline, perseverance and critical thinking. He emphasised these qualities in the context of preparing young cadets to take on leadership responsibilities in the future.
The visit to both establishments brought together two distinct aspects of the Army’s broader responsibilities: strengthening logistics capabilities that contribute to operational readiness and supporting institutions involved in developing future generations.

At CAD Pulgaon, the focus remained on critical infrastructure, logistics efficiency and mission readiness, while at Sainik School Chandrapur, attention was directed towards academics, training, cadet development and modern infrastructure.
The visit reflected the Southern Command’s engagement with both operational logistics establishments and institutions contributing to leadership development and nation-building initiatives.
