A three-member medical delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Army visited the Armed Forces Center for Computational Medicine (AFCCM) at the Department of Medical Research, Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, on 30 October 2025. The visit aimed to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) applications in healthcare.
Strengthening Medical Collaboration
The delegation, led by Colonel Saeed Mohammed Abdulla Alardi Alnuaimi, was warmly received by Maj Gen Atul Seth, VSM, Dean and Deputy Commandant, AFMC Pune. During the visit, the officers were briefed on AFMCโs ongoing advancements and achievements in computational medicine, particularly the integration of AI and ML in medical diagnostics, research, and healthcare innovation.

Immersive Experience in Medical Technology
As part of the visit, the UAE officers participated in a hands-on coding session designed to provide an immersive experience into the rapidly evolving domain of healthcare technology. The interactive session showcased how computational tools and data-driven approaches are revolutionising patient care, disease prediction, and medical training.

Campus Tour and Interaction
The delegation also toured the AFMC campus, gaining insights into the institutionโs multidisciplinary medical education, research infrastructure, and innovation ecosystem. The visit concluded with an interaction with Lt Gen Pankaj P Rao, Director and Commandant, AFMC Pune, where discussions centred on future avenues of cooperation between the Indian Armed Forces Medical Services and their UAE counterparts in the field of advanced medical technology and research.
