Lieutenant General PS Shekhawat, General Officer Commanding, Madhya Bharat Area, visited the 506 Army Base Workshop (ABW) to assess its operational preparedness and the critical technical support it provides to field formations of the Indian Army.
During the visit, the GOC interacted with officers, JCOs, and other ranks, appreciating their professionalism and commitment to maintaining high serviceability of key military equipment. He encouraged the personnel to maintain unwavering focus on timely maintenance, technical precision, and quality outputโfactors essential for meeting the Armyโs operational requirements.

Lt Gen Shekhawat reviewed the workshopโs major repair, overhaul, and engineering functions, including progress in modernisation initiatives. He praised the steady advancements in indigenisation, in-house innovation, and engineering solutions that contribute to enhancing self-reliance and reducing logistic dependency.

Highlighting the workshopโs vital role, he noted that the 506 ABW continues to ensure that platforms across the Indian Army remain reliable, mission-ready, and operationally effective. Its sustained dedication, he said, stands as a testament to the spirit of technical excellence and service to the nation.
