In the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah, which severely disrupted communication networks across parts of Sri Lanka, the Indian Armyโs Shatrujeet Brigade Integrated Task Force swiftly stepped in to restore vital infrastructure.

Deployed under OperationSagar Bandhu, the team carried out rapid repairs on the cyclone-damaged Optical Fiber Cable (OFC) that had caused a major communications blackout in Mahiyanganaya, near Kandy. Their timely intervention enabled the restoration of essential connectivity to thousands of affected residents and local authorities.

This prompt and coordinated effort underscores Indiaโs commitment as a reliable first responder in the regionโproviding immediate support, restoring communication lifelines, and strengthening regional humanitarian partnerships when they are needed most.
