Chief of Defence Staff General Anil Chauhan on Tuesday inaugurated the newly renovated Eastern Command Museum at the historic Vijay Durg in Kolkata, marking an important step in preserving and showcasing the legacy of the Indian Army’s Eastern Command.

The upgraded museum features immersive and interactive exhibits that vividly portray decades of Eastern Command’s operational excellence, highlighting the courage, valour, and supreme sacrifices of Indian armed forces personnel across multiple conflicts and operations.

Curated across five chronologically themed galleries, the museum presents a comprehensive narrative of Eastern Command’s rich heritage, operational history, and its vast and diverse geographical area of responsibility. The galleries trace the evolution of the Command, showcasing key military campaigns, leadership milestones, and contributions to national security.

The inauguration underscores the Indian Army’s commitment to honouring its legacy, educating future generations, and fostering a deeper understanding of the Eastern Command’s pivotal role in safeguarding the nation.
