Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Command, inaugurated a state-of-the-art Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) in the forward areas of the Desert Sector.

The newly inducted automated system is set to significantly enhance the operational capability of the Indian Army for desert operations, delivering higher logistics efficiency, faster responsiveness and improved sustainment under demanding operational conditions.

Developed through close collaboration with multiple industry partnersโincluding Addverb Tech Ltd, Indian Oil Corporation Limited, and the Military Engineering Servicesโthe ASRS reflects growing synergy between the Army and industry in adopting next-generation logistics solutions.

Lt Gen Seth lauded the initiative as a key step towards building a modern, agile and technology-driven logistics architecture, underscoring that automation and innovation are critical enablers for sustaining high-tempo operations in challenging desert environments.
