Rear Admiral Prashant Handu, NM, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Staff Requirements), visited the Naval Armament Depot (NAD) Bheemunipatnam on 12 March 2026 to review the operational preparedness and logistical readiness of the depot.
During the visit, the Flag Officer assessed the depot’s capability to ensure the availability of armaments in the right quantity at the right time to meet the operational requirements of the Indian Navy.

Inspection of Technical Facilities
Rear Admiral Handu inspected the technical facilities of the depot and reviewed various processes related to storage, maintenance and supply of naval armaments. He appreciated the high standards of readiness and efficiency maintained by the depot personnel.

Interaction with Officers and Staff
The Flag Officer also interacted with officers and staff of the depot. During the interaction, Shri P.K. Singh, INAS, General Manager of NAD Bheemunipatnam, briefed him on the depot’s operational commitments, key achievements and ongoing challenges.

The visit highlighted the Indian Navy’s focus on maintaining a robust logistical and armament support system to ensure uninterrupted operational capability across its naval fleet.
