The Army Training Command organised a blood donation camp on March 27, 2026, at Military Hospital (MH) Shimla under the aegis of Army Wives Welfare Association in collaboration with Indira Gandhi Medical College.
The camp was inaugurated by Mrs. Rani Sharma, Regional President of AWWA. The initiative witnessed enthusiastic participation, with a large number of volunteers coming forward to donate blood and support the noble cause.

The event was led by Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, PVSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of ARTRAC, along with the AWWA Regional President. An informative lecture was also conducted during the camp to raise awareness about the importance of voluntary blood donation and its life-saving impact.

Lt Gen Devendra Sharma commended the efforts of MH Shimla and appreciated the volunteers for their selfless contribution. He highlighted the significance of such initiatives in strengthening community service and promoting a culture of humanitarian responsibility within the armed forces.

The blood donation drive reflects the Indian Army’s continued commitment to social responsibility and community welfare alongside its operational duties.
