A group of 25 cadets from the Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC), accompanied by three instructors, visited Shimla on May 5–6, 2026, as part of an educational tour aimed at broadening their exposure to military and cultural environments.
During the visit, the cadets toured Headquarters Army Training Command (ARTRAC), where the Chief of Staff interacted with them and encouraged them to pursue careers in the Armed Forces. The interaction provided valuable insights into military leadership, discipline, and the opportunities available in defence services.

The cadets also witnessed a demonstration of infantry weapons and communication systems of an infantry battalion, giving them a practical understanding of modern military equipment and operational capabilities.
As part of their itinerary, the cadets had the opportunity to meet Kavinder Gupta, who interacted with the young students and motivated them to contribute towards nation-building.

In addition to military exposure, the cadets explored the rich cultural heritage of Himachal Pradesh, making the visit both educational and enriching. The tour highlighted the importance of experiential learning in shaping future leaders and inspiring them towards a career in the armed forces.
