The Valedictory Function marking the successful completion of Stage-I flying training for the 217 Army Pilot Course (Helicopter) was held at the Basic Flying Training School on May 30, 2026.
A total of 22 Army officers completed the first phase of their aviation training, marking an important milestone in their journey towards becoming military aviators of the Indian Army.

The ceremony was reviewed by Brigadier Praveen Kumar Singh, Commander of the 603 (Independent) Aviation Brigade, who congratulated the officers on successfully completing the demanding training phase.
The highlight of the event was the presentation of the trophy for Best Overall Performance to Captain Prateek Saini, who distinguished himself through exceptional performance during the course.

The Stage-I training programme equips young officers with fundamental flying skills, aviation knowledge and professional competencies required for further specialised training in Army Aviation.
Addressing the officers, the Reviewing Officer commended their dedication, discipline and commitment throughout the training period and encouraged them to continue striving for excellence as they progress in their aviation careers.

Officials stated that the successful completion of the course reflects the Indian Army’s continued focus on developing highly skilled aviators capable of supporting a wide range of operational missions, including reconnaissance, logistics, casualty evacuation and battlefield support.
The valedictory ceremony marked the beginning of the next phase of training for the young officers as they move forward in their journey to serve the nation as Army pilots.
