A significant milestone in the Indian Navy’s technical and design cadre was marked with the successful completion of Naval Architecture Course 36, during which seven officers were commissioned into the prestigious Naval Construction Wing.
The Passing Out Parade was reviewed by Rear Admiral Deepak Singhal, Chief Staff Officer (Training), Southern Naval Command, who congratulated the graduating officers on successfully completing their demanding academic and military training.

During the ceremony, the Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief Southern Naval Command Gold Medal was awarded to Sub Lieutenant SC Aryan Raj for securing the first position in the overall order of merit, while Sub Lieutenant Deepanshu received the Silver Medal for standing second.
The graduating officers completed four years of rigorous naval training combined with specialized academic education in naval architecture and warship design, preparing them for key roles in the development and maintenance of the Indian Navy’s future fleet.
As members of the Naval Construction Wing, these young officers will play a crucial role in the design, construction and modernization of indigenous warships, submarines and other naval platforms, contributing directly to India’s maritime capabilities.

The commissioning of the new officers comes at a time when the Indian Navy is pursuing several indigenous shipbuilding and submarine programmes under the government’s vision of Aatmanirbhar Bharat, aimed at strengthening self-reliance in defence manufacturing.
The Passing Out Parade reflected the Indian Navy’s continued commitment to developing highly skilled technical officers capable of driving innovation and supporting the country’s growing indigenous naval construction ecosystem.
With their commissioning, the seven young Naval Constructors are set to contribute to the next generation of Indian naval platforms, reinforcing the nation’s journey towards technological self-reliance and maritime strength.
