The Indian Army has strengthened healthcare outreach for veterans with the launch of an Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Medical Mobile Unit (MMU), aimed at delivering quality medical services to remote areas of Madhya Pradesh.
The Medical Mobile Unit was flagged off by Major General Sanjay Gautam, Chief of Staff, Headquarters Madhya Bharat Area, at the Station Cell, Jabalpur. Following successful trial runs in Seoni and Chhindwara, the mobile clinic commenced its first operational deployment to Narsinghpur.

Designed as a ‘Clinic on Wheels’, the MMU will provide primary healthcare, essential medicines and scheduled outreach services to more than 40,000 ECHS beneficiaries across 10 remote districts of the state. Staffed by a doctor and a nursing assistant, the unit is expected to ensure timely and accessible medical care for ex-servicemen and their dependants.

The initiative reflects the Indian Army’s continued commitment to the welfare of veterans by expanding access to quality healthcare in underserved regions and ensuring that those who have served the nation continue to receive dedicated medical support.
