Imphal, July 23, 2026: The Assam Rifles continued its community outreach efforts in Manipur by organising interaction programmes in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts, reinforcing its commitment to promoting peace, mutual trust, and socio-economic development in the region.
As part of the initiative, Assam Rifles personnel visited Khengjang village in Chandel District on 20 July 2026, where they interacted with students of Stella Maris School and local villagers. The engagement focused on motivating young people to pursue education, maintain discipline, and actively contribute to nation-building.
During the interaction, the troops encouraged students to develop leadership qualities, embrace positive values, and work towards becoming responsible citizens. They also reaffirmed the Force’s commitment to supporting the welfare of local communities through continuous engagement and developmental initiatives aimed at fostering harmony and progress.
In another significant outreach effort, Assam Rifles organised a coordination meeting with representatives of various Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) at Moreh in Tengnoupal District on 22 July 2026. The meeting served as a platform for constructive dialogue on issues concerning regional peace, security, and economic development.
Discussions centred on the prevailing security situation in the border region, measures to maintain peace and stability, and the revival of local and cross-border trade between Moreh in India and Tamu in Myanmar. Participants exchanged views on strengthening cooperation among security forces, civil society, and local stakeholders to ensure a secure and prosperous environment.
Representatives of the Civil Society Organisations expressed confidence in the continued collaboration with Assam Rifles, acknowledging the Force’s efforts in maintaining peace and facilitating developmental initiatives in the region. The interaction highlighted the importance of coordinated action in addressing security concerns while promoting socio-economic growth.
These outreach programmes reflect Assam Rifles’ broader approach of combining operational responsibilities with meaningful community engagement across the Northeast.
