Air Chief Marshal Amar Preet Singh, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), undertook a MiG-29KUB sortie from the Indian Navy’s aircraft carrier INS Vikramaditya on the sidelines of the commissioning ceremony of INS Malvan, reaffirming the growing operational synergy between the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Indian Navy.
The sortie highlighted the Armed Forces’ commitment to enhancing joint operations and interoperability across domains, reflecting the increasing emphasis on integrated warfighting capabilities in line with India’s evolving maritime and national security requirements.
During his visit to INS Vikramaditya, the Chief of the Air Staff interacted with the ship’s leadership, key functionaries and sailors. Flying the MiG-29KUB, the twin-seat carrier-capable fighter aircraft that forms the backbone of the Navy’s carrier-borne air operations, Air Chief Marshal AP Singh gained first-hand insight into the operational environment of naval aviation. The sortie underscored the close cooperation between the two Services in enhancing combat effectiveness across air and maritime domains.
