July 26, 2026: Major General Amaresh Gunjan, SM, VSM, General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the Golden Key Division, reviewed the formation’s operational readiness with a special focus on indigenous technological capabilities that are enhancing battlefield effectiveness and strengthening mission preparedness.
During the visit, the GOC assessed the division’s Drone Repair and Training Facility, a key capability that supports the rapid maintenance, restoration and operational deployment of unmanned aerial systems. The facility plays a vital role in ensuring that drones remain available for surveillance, reconnaissance and other mission-critical tasks, significantly improving the formation’s operational efficiency.
Maj Gen Amaresh Gunjan commended the division for developing cutting-edge capabilities centred on self-reliance and technological innovation. He appreciated the integration of advanced software solutions, specialised repair infrastructure and technical expertise that enable damaged or malfunctioning drone systems to be restored quickly, reducing downtime and maintaining operational momentum.
The review also highlighted the importance of mission-critical repair capabilities that allow frontline units to sustain operations without prolonged dependence on external support. Such capabilities enhance battlefield resilience and ensure that valuable unmanned platforms can be returned to service rapidly, providing commanders with uninterrupted situational awareness and operational flexibility.
Addressing officers and troops, the GOC emphasised that modern warfare increasingly depends on technology-driven solutions and the ability to maintain critical systems in operational condition. He noted that innovation, technical proficiency and indigenous capability development have become essential force multipliers in today’s evolving battlefield environment.
