Lieutenant General Anindya Sengupta, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Surya Command, visited the JAK Rif Regimental Centre and the Military College of Materials Management (MCMM) in Jabalpur, reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to developing future-ready soldiers and strengthening logistics leadership for the evolving battlefield.
During his visit to the JAK Rif Regimental Centre, the Army Commander reviewed the comprehensive training being imparted to Agniveers and assessed the institution’s efforts to prepare the next generation of soldiers for modern military operations. He appreciated the Centre’s focus on building physically robust, mentally resilient and technologically proficient warriors capable of meeting the demands of future conflicts.
Lt Gen Sengupta commended the instructors and staff for maintaining high training standards while integrating modern training methodologies to equip Agniveers with the skills, discipline and operational mindset required for contemporary warfare. He emphasised that continuous adaptation to emerging technologies and changing battlefield dynamics remains essential for maintaining operational superiority.
The Army Commander also visited the Military College of Materials Management (MCMM), where he reviewed the institution’s progressive training programmes in ordnance, stores and ammunition management. He was briefed on the College’s ongoing technology-driven transformation, including initiatives focused on technical certification, infrastructure development and modern logistics management.
Appreciating the College’s efforts to modernise military logistics education, Lt Gen Sengupta highlighted the increasing importance of efficient logistics, inventory management and supply chain resilience in ensuring sustained combat capability. He noted that future military operations would depend not only on battlefield excellence but also on robust and technology-enabled logistics systems capable of supporting operations across diverse environments.
Interacting with Young Officers undergoing training at MCMM, the Army Commander underlined the critical role of logistics as a force multiplier in future battlefields. He encouraged them to embrace innovation, adaptability and professional excellence while continuously upgrading their technical knowledge to meet emerging operational challenges.
The visit underscored the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on transforming both combat and logistics capabilities through modern training, technological integration and professional military education.
