The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the official category-wise cut-off marks for the Central Armed Police Forces (Assistant Commandants) Examination, 2025, along with recommendation details for candidates selected for appointment to Assistant Commandant posts.
The examination was conducted to recruit officers for the Central Armed Police Forces, including the Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
Against a total of 432 vacancies, the UPSC has recommended 350 candidates for appointment, including 15 Ex-Servicemen. The vacancies include 43 posts reserved for Ex-Servicemen, representing 10 percent of the total vacancies.

According to the official cut-off details, the final cut-off for General category candidates was 285 marks out of a maximum of 600. The EWS category recorded a final cut-off of 282 marks, while the OBC category had the highest final cut-off at 292 marks.
For candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes (SC), the final cut-off stood at 265 marks, while the Scheduled Tribes (ST) category recorded a final cut-off of 260 marks.
The official category-wise cut-off table also provides the minimum qualifying standards for Paper-I and the written stage comprising Paper-I and Paper-II. For the General and OBC categories, the minimum qualifying standard in Paper-I was 90.06 marks out of 250. The corresponding standard was 88.71 marks for EWS, 82 marks for SC and 80.65 marks for ST candidates.
At the written stage, the minimum qualifying standards in Paper-I plus Paper-II were 173 marks for General and OBC candidates, 172 marks for EWS, 162 marks for SC and 156 marks for ST candidates. These standards were subject to the prescribed minimum qualifying marks in Paper-II.
For General and OBC candidates, candidates were required to secure at least 25 percent, or 50 marks, in Paper-II. For Ex-Servicemen candidates, the prescribed minimum requirement in Paper-II was 15 percent, or 30 marks.
In the General category, 185 vacancies were available. Five Ex-Servicemen candidates were recommended, leaving 180 vacancies for non-Ex-Servicemen candidates, of whom 98 were recommended in the published details.
The EWS category had 44 vacancies, with 44 candidates recommended. In the OBC category, 109 vacancies were available, including eight Ex-Servicemen recommendations, while 101 non-Ex-Servicemen candidates were recommended.
The SC category had 62 vacancies, including two Ex-Servicemen recommendations, with 60 non-Ex-Servicemen candidates recommended. The ST category had 32 vacancies, all of which were covered through non-Ex-Servicemen recommendations.
For Ex-Servicemen, 43 vacancies were earmarked. The 15 recommendations comprised five candidates from the General category, eight from OBC and two from SC. The marks secured by the last recommended Ex-Servicemen candidate were 125 out of 600.
The commission has also released a reserve list containing 164 candidates. The reserve list comprises 82 candidates from the General category, 34 from EWS, 43 from OBC, three from SC and two from ST.
The final cut-off marks represent the scores secured by the last recommended candidate in each category at the final stage. The highest final cut-off was recorded in the OBC category at 292 marks, followed by General at 285, EWS at 282, SC at 265 and ST at 260.
The UPSC has also specified the tie-breaking mechanism used when two or more candidates obtain equal aggregate marks. In such cases, the candidate securing higher marks in the written examination is ranked higher. If the written scores are also equal, the candidate with higher marks in Paper-I is placed higher in the merit order. If the scores remain equal even at that stage, the older candidate is ranked higher.
The official cut-off provides candidates with a clear picture of the competitive standards required at different stages of the CAPF Assistant Commandants Examination 2025 and serves as an important reference for aspirants preparing for future UPSC CAPF examinations.
