Lieutenant General Ulhas Kirpekar, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding (GOC), Dakshin Bharat Area, visited Headquarters Telangana & Andhra Sub Area and various Training Centres in Hyderabad, reviewing operational preparedness, training standards and capability development initiatives.
During the visit, Lt Gen Kirpekar assessed the operational readiness of the formations and interacted with troops. He appreciated their professionalism, dedication and high morale, while emphasising the importance of maintaining rigorous training standards and remaining prepared for evolving operational challenges.
The General Officer also reviewed the training ecosystem in Hyderabad, focusing on measures aimed at strengthening the capabilities of personnel and enhancing overall effectiveness.
As part of his visit, Lt Gen Kirpekar witnessed Hyderabad’s growing defence innovation landscape, including visits to T-Hub and T-Works. He was briefed on indigenous technological advancements and emerging solutions with potential applications for the Armed Forces.
The innovations showcased included developments in Artificial Intelligence, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), robotics and quantum technologies, reflecting the increasing role of cutting-edge indigenous technology in strengthening India’s defence capabilities.
Lt Gen Kirpekar recognised the contribution of Hyderabad’s innovation ecosystem towards developing advanced solutions and highlighted the importance of the “Design & Make in India” approach in building a technologically advanced and future-ready force.
The visit underscored the Indian Army’s focus on combining operational preparedness and high-quality training with indigenous innovation and emerging technologies to meet future security challenges.
