SELF INTROSPECTION: Gateway to Success at SSB – Part 3

Once the process of self-realisation is completed we need to perceive the weak areas strongly and try to notice why they exist in our personality and what the ways in which this could be improved? This process can take time of about a month as personality is a rigid thing and might take even more time depending on the degree of change needed. That’s why I suggest my aspirants to start early and not to wait for the end moment. Also continuously going for SSB might also not be beneficial and there are chances that the aspirant might only increase attempts and return without success. There should be a difference of about 2-3 months between SSB’s.

  • Stage 4:  Revisiting life and looking at the important events can help in two ways for aspirants, one your PI preparation is half done and the other is that you can help in knowing the loopholes of what is needed to improve and catching the root cause of your weakness. Once the root cause is removed nothing can stop you from succeeding. So follow this step diligently. Also all the steps suggested in this series of article should be followed promisingly so that success could be achieved. I wrote this article as suddenly I started receiving many queries about self-introspection and aspirants detailing their success and failure stories. Hope now the doubts are much clearer.
This will only provide you the areas that need focus and improvement for personality. Apart from this the following tips can be handy to achieve the desired responses:

  • Do not lose confidence if any weak areas come in front. Fell as if you know what needs to be improved and don’t ever think of quitting. This is the only thing that our elite defence force officers never do.
  • Don’t ever believe in myths like my friend did not performed well, but still got selected or in GD I spoke for five times but I was screened out while the person who was just smiling was selected. Please remember that selection at SSB is not instantaneous, its based on selection of many rounds that are conducted there and the assessment is severe, so nobody can just escape like this.
  • Instead of focussing on myths I would suggest to concentrate on improvement areas and excel. Time spent in your improvement will not only help in SSB selection but it would be a lifelong investment one makes on self to realise the true potential.
