The Theatre Artillery of the Eastern Command of the Indian Army recently showcased its formidable firepower and state-of-the-art arms and ammunition during a successful test at the Pokhran field firing range in Jaisalmer.
The exercise, witnessed by Eastern Army Commander Lt Gen RC Tiwari, demonstrated the prowess of surface-to-surface weapons, prominently featuring the Pinaka and Smerch rockets.
Under the banner of a special slogan – “this exercise is a warning to our enemies, a promise to our friends” – the Army displayed the full extent of its artillery capabilities, showcasing the skill of its gunners and the might of its modern weaponry.
The manoeuvres were closely monitored by drones, highlighting the incorporation of cutting-edge technology in future warfare scenarios.
An official statement highlighted that Lt Gen RC Tiwari observed the integrated firing of theatre artillery across the entire spectrum of operations, validating the effectiveness of swarm tactics, first-person view drones, and other niche technologies to operate in an electromagnetic and air defense contested environment at Pokhran Field Firing Ranges.
He commended the Eastern Command Gunners for their innovative efforts in technology absorption, doctrinal evolution, force preservation measures, and the cohesive integration of multi-domain force multipliers.
The exercise not only demonstrated the Eastern Command’s readiness to counter any threat but also underscored its commitment to staying at the forefront of technological advancements in modern warfare.
The successful test serves as a testament to the Indian Army’s preparedness to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of evolving security challenges.
