The event, organized by the Surdarshan Chakra Corps, served as a testament to the Army’s unwavering dedication to the principles of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, fostering insights, innovations, and robust collaborations between academia, industry, and the armed forces.

The event, held amidst the serene backdrop of Thiruvananthapuram, brought together key stakeholders from the defence sector, including top brass from the Indian Army, leading academicians, researchers, and representatives from the industry.

Through collaborative discussions, knowledge sharing sessions, and interactive workshops, participants explored avenues for enhancing indigenous defence production, technology development, and innovation.

One of the highlights of the Southern Star interface was the emphasis on fostering closer ties between the defence establishment and the vibrant academic community.

Recognizing the pivotal role of academia in driving research and innovation, the Army reiterated its commitment to nurturing talent and fostering a culture of innovation among the youth.

Furthermore, the event served as a catalyst for forging stronger partnerships with the industry, with a focus on leveraging cutting-edge technologies and manufacturing capabilities to meet the evolving needs of the armed forces. It provided a platform for industry leaders to showcase their expertise, capabilities, and innovative solutions tailored to the defence sector’s requirements.

The Southern Star interface also witnessed insightful discussions on key areas such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, drone technology, advanced materials, and smart logistics, among others.

These deliberations not only underscored the importance of embracing emerging technologies but also highlighted the need for collaborative efforts to address complex defence challenges.

In his address, senior officials of the Surdarshan Chakra Corps reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to promoting indigenous defence manufacturing and fostering a conducive ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship.

They emphasized the need for concerted efforts from all stakeholders to realize the vision of Aatma Nirbhar Bharat and strengthen India’s defence capabilities.

As the curtains draw on the Southern Star Army-Academia-Industry Interface, the Indian Army emerges more resolute in its pursuit of self-reliance and innovation.
