CDS 2 2023 OTA Merit List

The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the merit list for admission to the Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai, detailing the selection of 271 candidates based on the Combined Defence Services Examination (II) of 2023. This rigorous selection process includes both the written examination conducted by UPSC and subsequent interviews by the Services Selection Board of the Ministry of Defence.

The merit list is divided into two segments: the 120th Short Service Commission Course (NT) for Men and the 34th Short Service Commission Women (Non-Technical) Course, both set to commence in October 2024. A total of 204 candidates have been recommended for the men’s course, with an additional 67 female candidates qualifying for the women’s course.

Detailed Breakdown of Courses and Vacancies

The vacancies for the courses were previously specified by the government, with 169 slots for the men’s course and 16 for the women’s course. Notably, the men’s course list also includes candidates who had been recommended for admission to other prestigious institutions like the Indian Military Academy in Dehradun, Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala, and Air Force Academy in Hyderabad.

Selection Process and Candidate Information

It’s important to note that the results from the Medical Examination have not been included in the preparation of this merit list. All selected candidates hold provisional status pending the verification of their date of birth and educational qualifications, which will be conducted by the Army Headquarters.

For candidates seeking more information or wishing to review their personal scores, the UPSC has made provisions on its official website (http://www.upsc.gov.in). The scores will be posted within 15 days from the final result declaration and will remain accessible for 30 days.
