The Bengal Sub-Area, under the aegis of the Eastern Command, today conducted a high-intensity heliborne slithering exercise in the Maidan Area of Kolkata. This exercise demonstrated the troops’ exceptional precision and speed, underscoring their operational readiness and commitment to professional excellence.

The exercise involved troops rapidly descending from helicopters using ropes, a technique known as slithering, which is crucial for quick deployment in various military operations. This method allows for the insertion of soldiers into areas that are not accessible by traditional land or air vehicles, making it essential for special operations and rapid response scenarios.
