In a high-level defence engagement, Lieutenant General Wang Gang, Chief of Staff of Chinaโs Peopleโs Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF), met with Pakistanโs Chief of the Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, in Islamabad to discuss mutual interests and deepen strategic cooperation.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF), the meeting covered a broad range of topics including regional security dynamics, operational collaboration, and future avenues for strengthening bilateral airpower synergy. The interaction underscored both nationsโ shared aspirations for peace, stability, and technological advancement in the region.
Lt General Wang Gang praised the Pakistan Air Forceโs operational readiness and modern capabilities, describing them as โcutting-edge.โ He also received an in-depth briefing on the PAFโs evolving force structure, strategic reforms, and new doctrine initiatives.
Air Chief Marshal Sidhu emphasized the historical and strategic ties between Pakistan and China, stating that their relationship is based on mutual trust and shared goals. He reaffirmed Pakistanโs commitment to enhancing collaboration with China across key defence sectors such as training, technology transfer, and joint operational exercises.
The visit is part of a broader defence delegation tour by the Chinese Air Force aimed at reinforcing bilateral military ties. Both sides agreed that the engagement reflects the strength of the PakistanโChina strategic partnership and their intent to pursue innovation-driven cooperation in the aerospace domain.
