The Indian Army showcased its growing technological capabilities today as Lieutenant General Manjinder Singh, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the South Western Command, reviewed the elite Black Charger Brigade at the Bathinda Military Station.

The inspection featured advanced drones, modern communication systems, and other cutting-edge equipment integral to multi-domain operations—spanning land, air, cyber, space, and electromagnetic warfare. Lt. Gen. Singh commended the brigade’s adaptability, mission-focused training, and forward-looking leadership, stressing the importance of readiness for future battlefield challenges.
With over three decades of service, Lt. Gen. Singh has commanded forces in counter-insurgency zones along the Line of Control and in difficult terrains. Since taking charge of the South Western Command in December 2023, he has pushed for modernisation and indigenous capability development, particularly in the strategically sensitive Western Indo-Pak border region.

The Black Charger Brigade, known for operational excellence, has also demonstrated a commitment to community initiatives, such as participating in the ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ campaign in December 2024 to promote environmental conservation and eco-tourism awareness.

Today’s review aligns with the Indian Army’s broader push toward indigenous defence technology and multi-domain warfare readiness, ensuring the force remains agile in an evolving geopolitical environment.
