The Indian Naval Academy (INA) at Ezhimala celebrated the successful completion of a six-week Special Naval Orientation Course (SNOC) for 12 medical officers on Saturday. A certificate ceremony was held at the academy’s premier training facility, symbolizing the readiness of these officers to take on dual roles as medical professionals and naval leaders.
The course blended medical expertise with naval-specific training, covering modules on operations, leadership, maritime law, ethics, and intensive physical conditioning. Designed to prepare officers for life at sea, the program ensures they can shoulder both healthcare and leadership responsibilities, strengthening the Navy’s operational edge.

This year’s course was notable for its strong female representation among graduates, reflecting the Navy’s increasing inclusivity.

The milestone comes just months ahead of Navy Day on December 4, often used as a platform to highlight progress and boost morale. Senior officials present at the ceremony commended the officers for their dedication, noting their vital role in safeguarding India’s maritime interests in an era of growing regional challenges.

With this, the officers now join the fleet equipped with advanced skills and a reinforced sense of duty, ready to uphold the Navy’s high standards of professionalism and service to the nation.
