The new unit, named Tata Advanced Systems Maroc, will focus on the local production of wheeled armoured platforms, following an agreement earlier signed between Tata and the Moroccan defence forces. The facility is positioned to cater not only to Morocco’s defence needs but also to regional and international demand for advanced armoured solutions.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to formally inaugurate the facility during his upcoming official visit to Morocco — the first-ever by an Indian Defence Minister to the North African nation. The visit underscores the growing strategic and defence cooperation between India and Morocco.

Industry experts have hailed the move as a milestone in India’s quest to expand its global defence footprint. The development aligns with the government’s twin objectives of enhancing self-reliance in defence production while simultaneously boosting exports of military platforms and systems.

By setting up a manufacturing hub overseas, Tata Advanced Systems has taken a decisive step in supporting India’s ambition to become a major defence exporter and reliable partner in global security.
