Meet Squadron Leader Sneha Kulkarni First Woman Pilot In Sarang Aerobatics Display Team

0

The Sarang Helicopter Aerobatics team of the Indian Air Force enthralled the audience at the National Defence Academy (NDA) with its breathtaking manoeuvres, one after the other, on Tuesday. A notable member of the team was Squadron Leader Sneha Kulkarni, the first woman pilot to be inducted into any aerobatics display team in India.

The display by the four helicopter team was a key attraction on Tuesday morning at NDA, after the passing out parade of the 132nd course of the academy. Termed as brand ambassadors of the Indian Air Force, the Sarang team, with four painted helicopters, performed 11 stunning manoeuvres, each one more magnificent than the earlier.

The team is currently led by Wing Commander Sachin Gadre.

On what it feels like to be part of the iconic team, Squadron Leader Kulkarni said, “Needless to say, it was a great feeling. It was also exciting and humbling at the same time.. to know that many girls are looking at me as an example. More and more women are being inducted into the arms of services… there were none in the past.”

Kulkarni (31) and her brother, who is an officer in the Indian Army, are carrying forward the legacy of uniformed services from their father, late Bhalchandra Kulkarni, who was an assistant commissioner of police and had served across Maharashtra.

The family is originally from Jalgaon and is currently settled in Navi Mumbai. Kulkarni was commissioned into the IAF in 2007 and was inducted in the Sarang display team over an year ago.

On Tuesday, when the team held its display in front of the Sudan Block of the NDA, two other women members — Squadron Leader Tinju Thomas, the team commentator, and Squadron Leader Nidhi, the team engineer who was in-charge of the technical aspect — played key roles.

“More women getting inducted into key units of the armed forces is a major change, compared to the past. And every change takes time and tests our courage and patience. I am confident that women can do it… as armed forces provide a conducive environment,” added Squadron Leader Sneha.

The Sarang Helicopter Display Team has evolved from the Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Evaluation Flight, a group which was formed in Bengaluru in 2003, to evaluate the indigenous helicopter Dhruv, prior to its induction into operational service. The evaluation paved way for the formation of an aerobatic display team, with an aim to showcase the professionalism of the Indian Air Force and the milestones achieved by the Indian aviation sector.

In June 2004, the group was converted into a 151 helicopter unit and the team was renamed Sarang, the Sanskrit word for peacock, the national bird of India. The synchronised aerial ballet of four painted ‘metal birds’, as the team members call them, draws comparisons with the graceful dance of a peacock. The unit is based at Sulur, near Coimbatore, since 2009.

Cracked SSB Interview In 1st Attempt From SSB Allahabad

0
CRACKED SSB INTERVIEW IN 1ST ATTEMPT FROM SSB ALLAHABAD

Hello friends, I am Adarsh Janmeda, got recommended from 18 SSB Allahabad for SSC(NT) 106 Course on 24 may 2017 in my FIRST ATTEMPT. I used to read blogs, various articles about Armed Forces and SSB process at SSBCrack which helped to understand the basics behind SSB.

Feeling So happy that once I used to read success stories on SSBCrack and now I am sharing my own success story with all defence aspirants here.

So, friends this was my second CDSE attempt which i was able to qualify. When I got my call letter for SSB, it was Allahabad and it’s a hoax among us that it’s a rejection center. Amid these thoughts, i prepare well for SSB and in my heart somewhere I was sure of my success the day I qualified the written exam. It was 19 of May we were called to report at MCO on Allahabad Jn. , 42 reported.

Screening was next day and I was pretty sure to make the cut in screening and as per expectations, I was among 24 who got Screened in.

**Positive story, confident narration and active participation in GD are the key factors.

We were returned to our candidate lines and were called at 6:50 AM next day for the psychology test. I write simple, short and positive stories in TAT, attempted all WATs, 47 SRTs, and SD which I prepared already.

**Write your natural responses and attempt at least 45 SRTs.

Then up to chest no.14 were called for the personal interview the same day. I was chest no 5, as I entered the room interviewer wished me warmly and asked to have seat.

All questions were from PIQ and some like why you want to join the army? What you want to join the army? Why should I recommend you?ssb Allahabad recommended

I answered accordingly. In so-called rapid fire I stuck at one place and asked the interviewer that “am I missing something sir” he hinted me and I started answering again. It went about 30-35 minutes and I was confident and calm throughout the interview.

**Prepare PIQ well.

From next early morning GTO started and was best 2 days at SSB. Our GTO was cool and supportive. Command Task, Lecturette, PGT, Individual Obstacles were among my best performances.

Best EKT Book -> Let’s Crack EKT

On last day at GTO, he addresses us all and wished for a better future.

**Be group effective, give ideas and do well in CT.

By my performances, I was quite satisfied and confident about my selection. In the conference I was called in, all officers were sitting in uniform, my interviewer wished me and asked to have seat. He asked me about my stay, where I visited, how many friends did I make, and then give me a situation that “if you got 5 lakh rupees how would you like to spend on candidates welfare at SSB Center.”

I answered confidently and accordingly. Then he asked about my performances in various activities and asked to leave the room. We all were asked to sit in a hall, an officer arrived and addresses all. In the end he called out Chest No. 5,  Chest No. 7 and closed the file, saying “that’s all gentlemen.” It was a feeling that I can’t explain, the moment seems to be unreal. I was among 2 who got selected out of 24.

I stood separate from the crowd because I was knowing that I HAVE IT IN ME and I will make the cut. The hoax that Allahabad is a rejection center proved to be wrong, I enjoyed every moment of my stay there. Now medicals are going on.

Thanks, Friends. Be original and be confident.

Jai Hind.

Recommended From SSB Bangalore For Indian Army In 1st Attempt

Recommended From SSB Bangalore In 1st Attempt

Dear SSB Aspirants, I am Prabodh Deshmukh sharing my experience on how I cracked SSB in my first attempt and got RECOMMENDED for OTA (SSC-NT) 106th course at Bangalore Centre. First,  I wish to thank SSBCrack success stories which started my preparation.
I studied SSBCrack Success Stories on this website which gave me adequate inputs of various ‘Successful Candidates’ experiences in SSB. I thereafter prepared as per tests given in some books. I did real time practices of Intelligence and Reasoning Tests, TAT, SRT, and WAT as per timings were given. I also formed a group of like-minded friends to practice these tests and prepare for the current affairs topic.

However, I had numerous doubts in every Psych test in understanding the correct psychological norms. I had many queries in  GTO tasks and Interview preparation; which I wanted to clear; as the books do not illustrate any micro details. There is no coverage of GK, GA and other PD (Personality Development) Skills in such books which I felt is important.

SSBCrack site gave me excellent inputs. Further, some candidates suggested to me name of Brigadier (retd) Harish Chande, who had been Ex-President of SSB, Sr GTO, Sr Interviewing Officer with rich faculty experience. I approached him and he told me about all SSB Techniques, GK, equipment, technology, soft skills and total PD. Well, everything made a vast improvement in my approach, psyche and methodical preparation for the SSB Interview. And Friends, here I wish to take this opportunity to thank ssbcrack.com in specific and Brigadier Chande sir also whose invaluable guidance has been instrumental in my success.

Recommended Candidates

I practiced routine physical fitness which cleared me in Medical Board without any hassles. So, I like to recommend that you remain fit in physical stamina and keep the body weight as laid down. ‘Running is better than Gym’ was my experience. Believe in yourself and work very hard for at least two months before SSB. Improve your English in written and spoken mode, as much as you can. You must start preparation as early you can.
I recommend that you must read the entire SSBCrack site for their guidance and success stories. These will give you correct direction. If you wish you may interact with Brigadier Chande sir at 9272225698 for guidance. I wish you excellent luck in your Interview and for the dreams to get fulfilled to wear the proud Uniform.
I also want to thank my parents, friends and senior officers from Ncc especially Col.K.S.Dhindsa for believing in me and motivating me. Best of luck gentlemen for your future endeavors, I hope this post will help you as countless other have helped me in the past.

From: Prabodh S Deshmukh. Recommended for OTA(nt) 106 from Bangalore. Chest No 70

Indian Army Killed Burhan Wani’s Successor Sabzar Bhat + 8 Terrorists

Indian Army Killed Sabzar Bhat

Sabzar Bhat, who succeeded Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani, was among 8 terrorists who have been killed in separate encounters in Jammu and Kashmir today. While two of the terrorists killed were holed up in a building in Pulwama district’s Tral sector, six others were killed by the Indian Army as it foiled an infiltration attempt along the Line of Control or LoC in Rampur sector in Baramulla district.

The operation in Rampur, which is adjoining Uri, was carried out after the alert soldiers noticed suspicious movement along the LoC in the early hours of the morning. “The infiltration attempt has been stopped successfully,” an army official confirmed.

The area has been cordoned off and is being sanitised by the army to ensure that there are no other terrorists in hiding. “Four terrorists were eliminated after an exchange of fire between them and the army. A search operation is being carried out,” the official confirmed.

Rampur sector is close to the Uri sector where the Indian Army on Friday foiled an attack by Pakistan’s Border Action Team or BAT. The two Pakistani intruders, suspected to be members of a Pak Army Border Action Team (BAT), have been eliminated by the Indian Army near a post in the Uri sector of Kashmir located at an altitude of more than 10,000 feet. The intruders had crossed the Line of Control and were very close to an Indian Army post located 600 metres from the LoC.Indian Army Killed Sabzar Bhat

Army officers told NDTV that they are fairly certain the intruders at Uri were part of a Border Action Team looking to mutilate Indian soldiers, or target patrols or posts located along the Line of Control. An AK-47 and a pistol were recovered but, significantly, neither of the intruders was carrying a rucksack, a clear indicator that they had been deployed to attack the Indian Army before escaping back to Pakistan.

On May 1, Pakistani BAT teams had beheaded two Indian soldiers in the Krishna Ghati sector near the Line of Control. BAT teams are said to be composed of highly-trained Pakistani Special Services Group (SSG) commandos in addition to jehadi fighters.
In another incident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Tral sector, around 3 terrorists are holed up and a massive encounter in under way. Security forces have cordoned off the area and are carrying out an operation to smoke out the terrorists who are reportedly trapped in their hideout.

The counter-terror operation is being carried out based on specific information given by the army’s intelligence wing about three unidentified terrorists being holed up in a building.

According to reports, an operation was launched by the troops of the Rashtriya Rifles.
