Well through this post I just want to put some light on importance of SRT (Situation reaction test) in Psychology Test. This is one of the SSB interview test in which candidates need to write their response for 60 situations within 30 mins of time duration,you are suppose to write your idea and reaction to tackle the situation.

Repeaters knows the kind of situations comes in SRT and Fresher can just go through this post to get more idea what to do or what not to do. Situations are common but rarely happens to someone in other words the most common situations can happen to you but rarely. Simple example ” you lost your ticket while travelling in train” this is common but happens rarely to someone.
Okay, above situation is very normal when compare to other situations, situation like ” you saw two gunmen forcing a lady on road in the middle of the night, what will you do ??” this situation is very rare but it very common nowadays. Everybody has their own tactics to tackle some problem and the way of tackling a problem is also considered in SSB. Your response must be practical , practical ? what do you mean by practical?
It must be Practically possible, I mean, you must write something which you will actually do under such situation, after thinking wisely. Please do not say you will go towards gunmen and kick them with your kung-fu this is not practical even when you know kung fu, because gunmen having Guns which is much faster than your kicks.. okay jokes apart…:) Okay I will give you one more example and please do not ask what I will do with those gunmen, because everybody has their own way to tackle situations, as I said above and I don’t want to make you confuse.

You are waiting for a relative at railway station. The train has arrived and suddenly you hear a loud explosion around. You see some people dead and some people badly injured or bleeding. People are running here and there. You will…….
Here the first reaction is to keep YOURSELF safe. If you yourself gets injured then who will help others? Ensure that you are standing at right place(open space) where probability of explosion is low. Then call the ambulance, Police, Bomb Squad etc and help the injured people.
To sum up:
In all SRT’s we need to think a little bit. In this case some people write ” I will run to the spot , call the ambulance, …”lekin spot pe bhag k jake karoge kya? On the spot pe jake ambulance ko call karne se accha hai ki you move away from the crowd, look around for empty space,and then call..and so on..”

Here i am posting the possible answers for above SRT’s according to me —
1) He wil take sugestions from the ill captian and lead the team wid ful efort and win the match
2) find a shelter below any shelter or bus stand, inform parnts about delay and proceed after rain stops
3) ask our seniors for the required actions
4) I wil take the return train from there, board it widout ticket and return to my home to take money
5) I wil write an application to provide grace of 1 %, if dis dosnt wrks, i wud sugest him to prepare again
6) I wil prefer to take public transport to go there
7) Try to memorise the dacoit’s physical luk and lodge an FIR report, give some money to the lady if she needs
8) Wud proceed to sign contract and after it instantly go to the hospital’s ICU
9) Wud quitely folow whatever TT say to do
10) Join them and have fun
11) Wud pick up the person, take him to the hospital in my way tp station n leav to catch my train
12) Wud pay the fine as the traffic police orders me to do
13) wud take sugestions from seniors, make a plan and execute farewel faantastically
14) Shout instantly for help then put blanket or heavy clothe on fire after unpluging it
15) Try to navigate through the manual compass
16) Agree upon their views if they are logical
17) Wud prefer to cancel my xam
18) Solve the issue with logical points and suport from other frnds
19) Learn a lesson from him for my future purchases.
20) Wud go out of d station thru flight and return by flight at the morning of match
21) Wud fight back the life and earn my living
22) Wud cal parnts to inform about delay and then search the nearby puncture repairing shop
23) Wud borrow from my best frnd and return him later
24) wud study wid all eforts n prove him wrong
25) Inform the meeting members by cal about the delay
26) Would made my other frnds who are more friendly than him
27) Call my relative and invite him to take care of my mom.

Sir does it creates a bad impression if i skip situations in SRT .
Sir i have did all 60 srts in test,can it give a bad impression that i take the situation lightly?Because maxm recmnd cndidate tell they wre abl to cmplt arnd 45 to 50 srt.sir pls clear my doubt..

Rajat , SRT never tells you what you have to do , it gives you a situation and you have to decide whether you have to do multiple tasks or single task. Coming to Train accident you didn’t mentioned what kind of situation it is so please elaborate.
Also in any SRT you please write few reactions not multiple tasks like you will do this and that, it will not work coz you can’t work out many thing all of a sudden . So select a appropriate task and follow according to that.
Like in this post Railway station bomb blast accident is given so here also you can do multiple tasks but do you think practically you will do it, you can write plenty of social work but Psychologist has tools to know whether you will do it or not . So write what ever suits the situation and always take care of your self don’t act like a filmy hero while handling such situations coz Armed forces needs a perfect man not a superman 🙂
