In Conversation with Namita Recommended for Indian Air Force

It was great having conversation with few recommended candidates which is helping us to know what and how exactly they have tasted the success. In another conversation with Namita Tyagi who has cleared AFSB interview and she has shared her experience here “The magic of hills at Dehradun“.

SSBCrack.com: Congratulations on clearing SSB interview?
Namita: Thank u so much. SSB crack was truly an inspiration and motivating.

SSBCrack.com: So tell us, what motivated you to join the Indian Air Force?
Namita: I somehow always wanted to fly for Indian Air Force. I cannot recall what motivated me to do so as I have spent so many years nurturing this dream. I would rather say that i grew up with this dream. I could not make it to flying, that is another thing, but this is something I always wanted to do.. I wanted to fly for the force.
SSBCrack.com: How did you prepare for it, and were you confident enough about your preparation before SSB?
Namita: As i go screened in my first attempt, I knew the first thing that I had to do was to familiarise myself with the process. For this is I joined a coaching academy and I spoke to my friends who had already attempted and they guided me through it. Furthermore I was lucky to have some very supportive people at my SSB centre. That further helped. I was confident of myself and my preparation as I was very much aware of the fact that this was my last chance to achieve what I always wanted to.
SSBCrack.com: Do you think your excellent writing skills helped you in psychological tests?
Namita: As far as I could figure out, psychological tests are not about very great writing skills. They are about the CONTENT. Good writing skills help for sure but they alone are not the pass. Rest, SSBs are so unpredictable and you can never figure out what is working to your advantage and what is not.
SSBCrack.com: Have you ever felt nervous between any tests during 5 days?
Namita:  I was not at all nervous. They are the most fun filled and cherished days. Today, when I look back at those 5 days, I realise how closely I came across myself there. They were the days of introspection and it’s all about knowing yourself better. The process gave me more confidence. And for the little nervousness and curiosity (to share) I felt, I always used to make a call back home and to friends at the end of the day.
SSBCrack.com: According to you, what SSB look for in a candidate?
Namita: This is very difficult. I have attempted 3 SSBs and still I am not yet able to figure this out. But one thing that I know is … be honest to you first …and this stands good in all situations.
SSBCrack.com: What was your answer for “Why do you want to join IAF”?
Namita:  As I have said, be honest …I answered this question telling about my passion for flying and how desperately I wanted it.
Ti
SSBCrack.com: Not clearing PPBT, was it heart breaking?
Namita: I could not clear the Pilot aptitude and battery test (PABT) which is essential for flying in any defence force. It was shattering but then the type of stimuli you need for this type of test is something that should come to you naturally. You cannot develop them. So, the fact that I attempted it and tried my best was contenting.
SSBCrack.com: Do you think SSB coaching helps aspirants to clear SSB, have you ever taken any professional coaching or guidance?
Namita:: yes, I think it does help . Calling it coaching is unfair. It is guidance and I think it helps a lot to channelize energy in the right direction to achieve the goal.
SSBCrack.com: What you would be if not an officer in Indian Air Force?
Namita: I have no clue!  Never thought of this.
SSBCrack.com: What is your message for repeaters and fresher for SSB interview?
Namita: Be confident about your abilities. Don’t be judgemental about the tasks and attempt to the very best of your abilities. They are the best 5 days and you are going to cherish them all through your life.
SSBCrack: Thank you for speaking to SSBCrack.com
Namita: thank u so much  🙂
