ssb interview experience

Before introducing myself, I am very grateful to #SSBCRACK and a very special thanks to SSBCRACK for giving a right platform for all Defense aspirants to clear SSB. I am TARUN KAUSHIK, B.TECH (ECE) 2011-2015 batch graduated from MDU ROHTAK (HARYANA), I belong to Jhajjar in Haryana. I’m very desperate to join Indian Armed Forces as an Officer and recently on 31 July 2015, I recommended for assistant commandant in Indian Coast Guard by Coast guard selection board Noida. Before describing my SSB interview recommendation experience, I would to tell about my previous attempts:

Before my 9th Attempt, I have not referred this website because I was not known to this website. One day I was searching regarding SSB Interview technique on Google, then I found this website and I made a complete reading of various articles on this website www.ssbcrack.com , on this website I like Success Story the most. I keep reading the experience of many successful candidates and it really helped me in getting the recommendation this time. And during my Interview, I also mention about #SSBCRACK and told the interviewing officer about reading of experiences of successful candidates on this website, when he put a question that HOW I PREPARED FOR SSB.

My SSB Journey: From 13 Failures to Success in the 14th Attempt

Now I’m describing my complete journey of my 9th attempt:

PSB at NOIDA on 01 JULY 2015: Around 150 candidates reported and after documents verification the first test of the day: Intelligence Test begins: The test was simple, it only require concentration and presence of mind. After the test Result of Intelligence test was declared, a total of 44 candidates made to second test of the day: PP&DT. A picture related to farmer is shown and we narrate it one by one and discussed it. Around 25 got screened In PSB and from my group 4 were selected. After BIOMETRIC Testing, We were sent to home and I had to report for my FSB(Final Selection Board) Noida on 26 July 2015.ssb interview experience

Day 0: 26 July 2015: Date of reporting of 80 candidates but 63 out 80 reported. After documents verifications, chest no. were allotted to us, MINE WAS 44.

Day 1: 27 July 2015: PSYCHOLOGY TEST:

  • TAT: 11 pictures and a blank picture were flashed on screen for 30 seconds each. I wrote simple story in such a manner as if I was the hero and what I have done so far in my life, related to that part I wrote down all stories.
  • WAT: words were very simple and I completed 59/60.
  • SRT: I could complete only 51/60. I keep my response same in similar SRTs.
  • SD: I had prepared it at my home and had a practice of it.

Day 2: 28 July 2015: No testing was there for me on that day, it was free for me.

Day 3: 29 July 2015: Personal Interview:

I prepared for the interview from SSBCRACK. I had already practiced the rapid fire question from this website. When I was being interviewed, Officer asked many questions i.e. rapid fire at the same time, but I had done practice of it, without skipping a single question I answered all the questions. And officer was seemed to be satisfied as he was acknowledging me making the movement of this head. And my confidence was also increasing by the time. My interview last for 30 minutes. He had asked questions from my PIQ only, in GK he asked a single question: What is ISIS?  I answered it with full confidence. After all he said thanked me and wished me “All the best and May God bless you”. I moved out from the room after wishing him Thank you Sir.

Day 4: 30 July 2015: GTO

  • Group Discussion: Two topics one related to FDI and another related to How to control the Crime against women. I gave 3-4 solid points in both the topics and I listened my group mates very carefully and gave chance to speak others. Optional Topic: How India Can become Supreme Power in the world as it was a dream for our Missile man Dr. APJ Abdul kalam.
  • GPE: During GPE, no one was allowing me speak. All were speaking at the same time; I kept saying that I have a valid and better solution than others. Then I got a chance to put my solution in front of group, All the group members agreed to go with my solution. I was nominated by the group to give a common group plan. GTO appreciated my solution during my briefing.
  • Lecturette: In my card 4 topics were there:
  1. Women empowerment (I choose this topic)
  2. SAARC Summit
  3. Agriculture in India
  4. I don’t remember.

After Our GTO tasks are over, GTO took a brief intro of all the group members. When my turn came, he just said,” Just tell me, How a mobile phone call is done” – Being a BTECH ECE topper student, I answered it and then GTO appreciate me by saying “VERY GOOD- TARUN”.

Day 5: 31 July 2015: After Completion of 5 day testing, we went inside Conference room one by one. When I was waiting outside conference, my body was vibrating while I was sitting on the chair. When my turn came to go inside, I was very confident and was keep smiling inside the room. IO asked me why I am smiling. I replied that I have done well in all the three testing and very much confident about my selection this time. The president of the board also asked a question “What Steps should be taken according to you to improve the sex ratio in Haryana”.  I also replied it with facts and some data.

The conference was over. The result was ready. We were waiting for the result in examination hall. After sometimes, Psychologist came with result. Before announcing the result, he gave closing address by motivating all the candidates. After completion of it, he started announcing chest no. those who got recommended. He started like Chest No. 3, 4, 9 …43, 44… 50……….. Mine was 44, I was just**********what to say****** I have no words to express that moment after a struggle for almost 5 years for SSB which started from OCT. 2010 came to an end. A total of 17 out 63 got recommended for Assistant Commandant in INDIAN COAST GUARD.

My tip is: Only keep doing hard work, God will definitely help us.
