In a testament to his commitment to ensuring the security and operational readiness of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles units in Manipur, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) Spear Corps embarked on a comprehensive tour of formation headquarters and units across the region.

The visit, spanning multiple districts including Kakching, Tengnoupal, Chandel, Imphal West, and Bishnupur, provided an invaluable opportunity for the Corps Commander to gain firsthand insights into the prevailing security situation and interact with the troops on the ground.

On the second day of his visit, the GOC Spear Corps delved deep into the heart of Manipur, traversing diverse landscapes and engaging with the dedicated men and women stationed in various formations and units.

In Sugnu, Kakching district, the Corps Commander received a detailed overview of the security posture and ongoing counter-insurgency operations from the unit leadership.

The discussions delved into the intricacies of maintaining law and order in the region and strategies employed to combat insurgent activities effectively.

Moving forward, the GOC Spear Corps visited Moreh in Tengnoupal district, a strategic location bordering Myanmar, where he gained valuable insights into cross-border security concerns and efforts to curb smuggling and illicit activities.

The briefing provided by local commanders shed light on the multifaceted challenges inherent in securing the porous international border.
