In a proactive endeavor aimed at bolstering Indiaโ€™s defence manufacturing capabilities, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Vice Chief of Army Staff (VCOAS), undertook a comprehensive visit to Pune.

During his visit, Lt Gen Dwivedi visited several key industries affiliated with the Ministry of Defence, highlighting the importance of close collaboration between the armed forces and the defence industry.

The strategic tour included engagements with prominent establishments involved in the production of critical equipment and technologies for the Indian Armed Forces.

Among the notable visits were to The Armament Research & Development Establishment (ARDE), Larsen & Toubro (L&T), the Predictive Technology Laboratory, Ammunition Factory Khadki, and Bharat Forge Limited.

At each stop, Lt Gen Dwivedi engaged in insightful discussions with industry leaders, technical experts, and key stakeholders, gaining firsthand knowledge of their capabilities, ongoing projects, and contributions to defence production.

The interactions provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas, share insights, and explore avenues for collaboration in the development and production of cutting-edge defence equipment and systems.

One of the focal points of Lt Gen Dwivediโ€™s visit was to assess the integration of modern technology and innovation in defence production processes.

He was briefed on recent initiatives undertaken by these establishments to leverage advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence, predictive analytics, and automation to enhance efficiency, quality, and precision in defence manufacturing.
