The Indian Army’s Northern Command on Wednesday released a video showcasing highlights of Operation Sindoor, the May offensive against terror launchpads in Pakistan carried out in response to the Pahalgam terror attack that killed 26 people.
In a post on X, the Northern Command described the operation as “an exemplar of restraint turning into decisive response”, stressing that India struck only specific terror bases and agreed to a ceasefire to avoid escalation.
Rare Operational Footage
The over three-minute video features dramatic visuals of precision drone and missile strikes on Pakistani targets. It also includes a clip from May of Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, Director General of Military Operations (DGMO), stating that it was Pakistan’s DGMO who first proposed the ceasefire.
“The precision strikes on terror launchpads and elimination of perpetrators of the Pahalgam massacre underscore our unwavering pursuit of peace,” the Northern Command said.
With bold text declaring “A new line is drawn: India will not stop until terrorism is wiped out”, the Army highlighted its sovereign stance of rejecting third-party mediation, a veiled reference to US President Donald Trump’s claims of having “stopped the war.”
Background
India launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, targeting terror infrastructure across the border. Pakistan retaliated with strikes on Indian bases between May 8 and 10, triggering a fierce counter-attack on Pakistani military installations. Both sides agreed to a ceasefire on May 10.
Last week, the Indian Air Force also shared rare aerial footage from the operation.
