Air Chief Marshal A P Singh, Chief of the Air Staff, reviewed the impressive Passing Out Parade (POP) of the Short Service Commission (SSC) Men-120, SSC Women-34, and equivalent courses at the Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai. The parade was a magnificent display of immaculate drill, synchronized movements, and exemplary turnout, showcasing the discipline, pride, and rigorous training imparted at the academy.
On this momentous occasion, 155 Officer Cadets, including 25 women, were commissioned as Officers in the Indian Army. Adding to the significance of the event, 21 Officer Cadets, including 12 women, from Friendly Foreign Countries also successfully completed their training. Their participation underscored the spirit of camaraderie and cooperation, further strengthening the bonds between India and partner nations.
The Chief of the Air Staff complimented the cadets on their outstanding achievement and congratulated the proud parents, emphasizing the unique honour of serving in the Armed Forces.
Following the parade, Air Chief Marshal A P Singh attended the Pipping Ceremony, where cadets proudly donned the stars on their shoulders, symbolizing their formal commissioning into the Army. He extended warm congratulations to the young officers and their families, while reminding them of their responsibility to uphold the highest traditions, values, and ethos of the Armed Forces. He also encouraged them to emerge as inspiring leaders and role models for their men.
The day concluded with a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the Temple of Remembrance, OTA Chennai, where the Chief of the Air Staff, along with the cadets, paid homage to the Bravehearts who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation.
This proud occasion marked not only the culmination of rigorous training but also the beginning of a lifetime of service, leadership, and honour for the newly commissioned officers.
