A high-level delegation of the Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS) led by Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, Director General AFMS (DGAFMS), visited the United States Armed Forces Medical Facilities of the Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) at Honolulu, Hawaii.
During the visit, the Indian delegation engaged in extensive staff-level discussions with their US counterparts, focusing on sharing best practices in the domains of Military, Marine, and Aviation Medicine. The dialogue emphasized collaboration on medical strategies and systems that strengthen operational readiness and healthcare delivery in diverse environments.
Both sides also deliberated on avenues of engagement in areas of mutual interest. The emphasis was on identifying actionable inputs that can be incorporated into future cooperation, particularly through enhanced medical participation in bilateral and multilateral exercises between the two nations.
This visit marked a significant step in furthering Indo-US defence medical cooperation and reflects the commitment of AFMS to learning and integrating global best practices to improve medical support to soldiers and their families.
