In a landmark moment underscoring the Indian Navyโs pursuit of professional excellence and growth, INS Shivaji, the alma mater of Marine Engineers, marked the Passing Out of the 100th (Centennial) Marine Engineering Specialisation Course (MESC) on December 27.
A total of 31 officers, including trainees from friendly foreign nations, successfully completed 105 weeks of intensive and rigorous training, emerging fully mission-ready to meet future technological and operational challenges of naval service.

The prestigious Passing Out Parade was reviewed by Vice Admiral Sameer Saxena, AVSM, NM, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Naval Command. The senior naval commander also presented awards to officers who displayed outstanding professional competence and excellence during the course.

The Marine Engineering Specialisation Course is one of the most demanding professional programmes in the Indian Navy, designed to equip officers with advanced knowledge in marine propulsion systems, engineering management, damage control, and maintenance of complex warship machinery.
The successful completion of the 100th MESC not only reflects the enduring legacy of INS Shivaji but also highlights the Indian Navyโs commitment to capacity building, indigenisation, and fostering global military cooperation through training of international officers.

The centennial passing out stands as a proud testament to INS Shivajiโs pivotal role in shaping technically proficient, resilient, and future-ready marine engineers for the Indian Navy and its partner nations.
