Air Marshal Tejinder Singh assumed command of the South Western Air Command (SWAC) of the Indian Air Force on January 1, 2026. On taking over, he inspected a ceremonial Guard of Honour at Headquarters SWAC and paid homage at the Command War Memorial, honouring the supreme sacrifice of air warriors.

Commissioned into the Indian Air Force in June 1987, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh is a highly experienced fighter pilot with over 4,500 hours of flying. Over a distinguished career, he has commanded a fighter squadron, a radar station, and a major fighter base, and has served as Air Officer Commanding, Jammu & Kashmir, overseeing critical operational responsibilities.

At the strategic level, he has held key staff appointments including Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operations โ Offensive), Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Operations โ Strategy), Senior Air Staff Officer, Eastern Air Command, and Deputy Chief of the Air Staff. Prior to assuming command of SWAC, he served as Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, where he steered training doctrine and capacity building for future-ready air warriors.

As AOC-in-C, South Western Air Command, Air Marshal Tejinder Singh will oversee one of the IAFโs most operationally significant theatres, focusing on combat readiness, jointness, and capability enhancement along the western front.
