General Upendra Dwivedi, PVSM, AVSM, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS), visited the National Cadet Corps (NCC) Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2026, where he reviewed activities and interacted with cadets from across the country.
The COAS was received by Lieutenant General Virendra Vats, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General, NCC. On arrival, Gen Dwivedi was accorded a ceremonial Guard of Honour, led by Senior Under Officer (SUO) Utkarsh Sharma. This was followed by a vibrant and exhilarating band performance by the Scindia Band from Gwalior, adding colour and energy to the occasion.

During the visit, the Army Chief toured the meticulously curated Flag Area, where NCC cadets presented a range of impactful social awareness themes highlighting national priorities, civic responsibility, and social consciousness. The presentations reflected the cadets’ understanding of contemporary issues and their commitment to nation-building.
Gen Dwivedi also visited the NCC Hall of Fame, which showcases the organisation’s rich heritage, notable achievements, and enduring contribution to shaping disciplined and responsible youth for the nation.

The visit underscored the Indian Army’s strong bond with the NCC and reaffirmed the organisation’s vital role in nurturing leadership, discipline, patriotism, and civic values among India’s youth.
