Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi visited the Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre to review its training ecosystem, operational capabilities and regimental developments, while reaffirming the Indian Army’s commitment to maintaining high combat readiness in the strategically important region of Ladakh.
During the visit, the Army Chief was briefed on the Centre’s training initiatives, operational preparedness and ongoing regimental developments. He also reviewed the close civil-military synergy established between the Ladakh Scouts and the Ladakh Administration, highlighting the importance of coordinated efforts in supporting security, development and community engagement in the region.
General Dwivedi visited the upgraded Mutup Sanghralaya, where he reviewed the newly established “Chief’s Corner”, a dedicated section showcasing the legacy, leadership and contributions of the Chief of the Army Staff.
Interacting with instructors and personnel, the COAS commended the training faculty and staff for their professionalism, dedication and sustained efforts in shaping disciplined, resilient and mission-ready soldiers capable of operating in the demanding high-altitude environment of Ladakh.
He also lauded all ranks of the Ladakh Scouts for their exceptional operational excellence, unwavering commitment to duty and consistently high state of readiness while serving in one of the world’s most challenging terrains.
In recognition of exemplary service, General Dwivedi presented COAS Commendation Cards to selected personnel, acknowledging their devotion to duty and significant contributions towards enhancing operational preparedness and mission effectiveness.
The visit reaffirmed the Indian Army’s continued emphasis on strengthening specialised mountain warfare capabilities, preserving regimental heritage and fostering civil-military cooperation in the strategically vital Union Territory.
Officials noted that the interaction served as a morale booster for the troops and underscored the Army’s commitment to recognising excellence, promoting professional standards and ensuring that formations deployed in high-altitude areas remain fully prepared to meet evolving operational challenges.
