Bengaluru, June 25, 2026: Lieutenant Simran Singh Rathi was adjudged the Best Student of the Officers’ Transport Management Course, which concluded at the Army Service Corps Centre and College in Bengaluru on June 25, 2026.
The professional military course brought together officers of the Indian Army and officers from friendly foreign countries, reflecting the growing emphasis on international military cooperation, knowledge sharing and professional development. Officers from Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Lesotho and Nepal participated alongside their Indian counterparts.
The course focused on developing the officers’ knowledge and professional competence in transport management and the operational maintenance of Mechanical Transport fleets. It was designed to equip participants with skills that could be applied to the effective management, training and operational readiness of transport resources in their respective units.
The valedictory address was delivered by Lieutenant General J. K. Gera, Commandant of the ASC Centre and College. Addressing the participating officers, he highlighted the rapid technological developments taking place in the automotive industry and encouraged them to remain familiar with the latest innovations and emerging technologies.

Lieutenant General Gera urged the officers to use the knowledge and experience gained during the course to train troops serving under their command. He also emphasised the importance of maintaining Mechanical Transport fleets in a high state of operational readiness at all times.
The participation of officers from Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Lesotho and Nepal added an international dimension to the course. It provided the officers with an opportunity to exchange professional experiences, understand different transport-management practices and strengthen military ties between India and friendly foreign nations.
Lieutenant Simran Singh Rathi distinguished himself through his overall performance during the course and was declared the Best Student. His achievement reflected his professional dedication, understanding of transport-management principles and consistent performance throughout the training programme.

Captain Dipesh Budhathoki of the Nepal Army was adjudged the Best Foreign Officer of the course. The recognition highlighted his outstanding performance and active participation during the training conducted at the prestigious ASC Centre and College.
The culmination of the Officers’ Transport Management Course marked another important milestone in the ASC Centre and College’s role in preparing military officers to manage transport resources efficiently and ensure that their formations remain capable of meeting operational requirements.
